PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL PROPERTIES:
1. Appearance: White or off-white fibrous or granular powder, odorless.
2. Particle Size: Pass rate of 100 mesh is greater than 98.5%, pass rate of 80 mesh is 100%.
3. Carbonization Temperature: 280-300°C.
4. Bulk Density: 0.25-0.70 g/cm³ (usually around 0.5 g/cm³), specific gravity 1.26-1.31.
5. Discoloration Temperature: 190-200°C.
6. Surface Tension: 2% aqueous solution has a surface tension of 42-56 dyn/cm.
7. Water Solubility: Soluble in water and some organic solvents, such as ethanol/water, propanol/water, dichloroethane, etc. The water solution has high transparency and stable performance. Different specifications of the product have different gelation temperatures, which is the thermal gelation property of HPMC. Solubility varies with viscosity, lower viscosity results in higher solubility. Different specifications of HPMC have certain differences in performance, and the dissolution of HPMC in water is not affected by pH value.
8. As the methoxy content decreases, the gelation point of HPMC increases, water solubility decreases, and surface activity decreases.
9. HPMC is calorie-free and metabolically inert, not involved in the body's metabolism.
