Sebacic acid is an important fine chemical intermediate with white plate-like crystals. Sebacic acid is slightly soluble in water and soluble in alcohol and ether. Sebacic acid is used as a raw material for sebacic acid ester plasticizers and nylon molding resins, and can also be used as a raw material for high-temperature resistant lubricants. Its main ester products are methyl ester, isopropyl ester, butyl ester, octyl ester, nonyl ester, and benzyl ester, with commonly used esters being dibutyl sebacate and dioctyl sebacate.

1. It is used as a raw material for sebacate plasticizer and nylon mold resin, and can also be used as a raw material for high temperature lubricating oil. Azelaic acid plasticizers are widely used in polyvinyl chloride, alkyd resins, polyester resins and polyamide molding resins, and are often used in some special-purpose resins due to their low toxicity and high temperature resistance. Nylon molding resins produced with azelaic acid have high toughness and low moisture absorption, and can be processed into many special-purpose products.
